Product Details

The Model 186 effluent pump is part of Zoeller’s High Head Flow Mate Series, purpose built for applications where elevated discharge pressures, long force mains, or engineered treatment systems demand exceptional pumping performance. Constructed from robust cast iron with corrosion resistant finishing, the Model 186 is designed to operate reliably under the demanding conditions typical of STEP and pressure dose environments.

Equipped with a 1-1/2 HP oil filled permanent split capacitor or 3 phase motor, the pump offers outstanding thermal dissipation for continuous or extended cycle operation. Its motor protection includes automatic reset thermal overload on single phase models, ensuring resilience against variable duty conditions. The non clogging cast iron vortex impeller efficiently passes up to 3/4 inch spherical solids, reducing the potential for downtime due to clogging or debris loading.

The Model 186 is available in both automatic and nonautomatic configurations, providing flexibility for installers designing custom dosing cycles or integrating the pump into engineered control systems. Automatic models feature fixed float actuation points for predictable cycling. The automatic versions are not recommended for septic tank effluent applications, while nonautomatic versions are and pair with external variable level float switches or control panels, allowing precise control tailored to basin dimensions and dosing requirements. For applications requiring enhanced motor protection, the double seal configuration (4186) introduces a secondary mechanical seal, offering additional defense against seal failure in harsh or aggressive effluent environments.

With performance ratings reaching 114 feet of head and 58 gallons per minute, the Model 186 delivers exceptional output, making it suited for long run laterals, elevated systems, and treatment installations with demanding hydraulic requirements. Every unit undergoes 100% factory testing, ensuring it matches its published curve before installation. Supported by Zoeller’s corporate warranty standards, the Model 186 provides dependable long term performance for the most demanding effluent applications.

Features and Benefits
  • Oil-filled motor and cast iron motor housing for optimal heat dissipation which prevents the pump from overheating
  • Automatic units include fixed float activation points for precise dosing cycles, while nonautomatic models integrate with external float switches or engineered control panels, allowing installers to tailor pump cycling to basin dimensions and system demands
  • Corrosion resistant cast iron vortex impeller to allow free passage of 3/4" spherical solids which prevents clogging and increases reliability
  • Automatic models include protected float mechanisms; nonautomatic models require external float systems for activation
  • Automatic 1‑phase units include float switches; nonautomatic and 3‑phase variants require external control panels
  • Stainless steel screws, handle, and hardware to prevent rust and corrosion
  • Powder-coated epoxy finish provides corrosion-resistance and extends the life of the pump in harsh environments
  • 100% Factory Tested - every pump is submerged in water and tested at the factory to ensure that it performs as expected when you receive it
  • Comes with a 1-year limited warranty giving you protection over your investment and the peace of mind you expect in a quality product
