School & Church in Ohio Relies on Zoeller Reversing Grinder Pumps for 27 Years

Ohio
Problem

A Catholic school in Ohio depends on Zoeller reversing grinder pumps and control panels to manage wastewater and pump it to municipal sewers. The original pumps, model 840-0005, served the school reliably for an astonishing 27 years—nearly triple the expected lifespan of 8–10 years for this type of equipment. This longevity is a powerful testament to the durability and engineering excellence behind Zoeller products.

After nearly three decades of continuous service, one of the grinder pumps reached the end of its operational life right as school was getting ready to start again. To avoid disruption to school operations and maintain sanitary conditions, a prompt and effective replacement was essential.

Solution

Zoeller’s trusted representative, StreamKey, provided the original equipment 27 years ago, searching through their files they were able to find start-up paperwork and Zoeller invoices to quickly figure out what was at the school. They worked with a local contractor to deliver a swift resolution and overhaul the system. They supplied two (2) new Zoeller 840-0005 grinder pumps, upgraded to the highly featured Pivot Pro Plus Duplex Reversing Control panel, new floats and check valves. All the equipment was in stock at Zoeller, which meant minimal time and stress for the customer to run a single pump as school came back in session.

Result

The duplex system enabled uninterrupted school operations throughout the installation process, which was completed with minimal disruption. This successful implementation further solidified Zoeller’s reputation for delivering reliable, high-quality solutions in demanding institutional environments.
