Job Overview
Zoeller Pump Company (Est. 1939) is seeking a Purchasing Manager to join our Operations Team. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement process, ensuring that the organization acquires goods and services at the best possible prices and quality within a manufacturing environment. This role involves strategic planning, supplier management, and collaboration with various departments to meet the company’s needs.
Key Responsibilities
– Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize costs, maintain quality standards, and mitigate supply chain risks.
– Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with potential suppliers, building and maintaining strong relationships to ensure a reliable supply of goods and services.
– Assess supplier performance.
– Collaborate with Materials Manager to manage purchased goods inventory levels.
– Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations regarding procurement.
– Oversee the purchasing department, including delegating tasks, supervising teams, and providing guidance and training.
– Handle and carry out directives on Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
-Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure that purchased items meet quality standards.
-Perform other duties as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
– Proven experience in purchasing or procurement roles.
– Strong negotiation and communication skills.
– Ability to analyze data and market trends effectively.
– Proficiency in purchasing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
– Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
– Master’s degree in a relevant field.
– Certification in supply chain management or procurement (e.g., CPSM, CSCP).
– Experience in a manufacturing industry.
Work Environment
– Typically works in an office setting for five 8-hour days.
– Travel to meet with suppliers and attend industry events on a quarterly basis.
– Fast-paced environment with deadlines and multiple projects needing attention.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 – $97,000.00 per year
