Basement Flood creates need for a Backup System

As a severe storm approached the area, a power outage occurred while heavy rainfall continued throughout the night. At the time, no backup system was in place to support the sump pump in the basement. As a result of the power outage, the pump was unable to activate, leading to significant flooding with over five inches of water accumulating. This incident prompted the homeowner to invest in a backup solution to prevent similar damage in the future.

To mitigate the risk of future basement flooding, it was recommended that a battery backup system be installed as a direct replacement for the existing sump pump. The plumber advised installing the Aquanot® Fit 508 ProPak system, paired with a Zoeller M63 sump pump, to ensure reliable performance during power outages. Additionally, the homeowner expressed interest in receiving alerts when the pump loses power. The Aquanot® Fit was selected for its Wi-Fi capability, which integrates with Zoeller’s Z Control® platform, allowing remote monitoring and real-time notifications.

The Aquanot® Fit system, paired with the Zoeller M63 sump pump, was successfully installed in the existing pit. Following installation, the homeowner was guided through the process of connecting the unit to their home Wi-Fi network and activating Zoeller’s Z Control® platform. With its built-in Wi-Fi capabilities, the Aquanot® Fit enables remote monitoring and real-time alerts, providing the homeowner with peace of mind and confidence that their basement is protected—even when they are away.
